itunes now reports airplay device not compatible

I have the same issue with my DENON:[RCD-N7]

"The AirPlay device “DENON:[RCD-N7]” is not compatible with this version of iTunes."

Does anyone know if it's easy to go back to a previous version of iTunes? I was happy with it...

I have the 3312CI as well. Please let us know if Denon will be pushing out a firmware update soon....like you said, the answer is likely no because many tech companies have a planned obsolescence protocol when releasing new gear.

Thanks Tony. I assumed as much, but I'll be ****** if I'm going to shell out $1k+ for another receiver just to preserve that functionality.

Do you know if the new iOS update (v12) will fail to launch the original AirPlay? I'm looking though the release notes, but don't see anything documented. I'm reticent to DL it for my iPhone 6S+.

Thanks. I don't know if the bypass works for Windows. I got into Windows Settings, selected Devices, then I saw my receiver listed under "other devices." But it said "not connected" and when I click on it, iTunes still says it's incompatible and only plays thru my computer speakers.

Has anyone gotten the bypass to work on a Windows PC?

Can somebody expand a bit on the suggested workaround please?

Are we talking about itunes preferences? I don't see my Denon Airplay device as an option anywhere except itunes, and it now says it's not compatible.

I am running Russound equipment, and i lost all 3 airplays from my mac. Not phone or ipad, but just mac. I would say I lost it right around July when the OP reported this.

I have had two IHome (bongiovi) speakers for well over a year that worked flawless playing fro itunes on my macbook pro. All of the sudden speaker A will get the not compatible error speaker B still works fine through itunes. I can do the work around through system prefs and get speaker A to play, but when i go back into Itunes and select speaker B, speaker A shuts off anf i get the error. WE used to play both speakers at night in our bedrooms at the same time through itunes. Now we play one through itunes and have to do speaker A through one of our phones. ANy ideas.

Where do you find system preferences? I can get to devices from edit>preferences but don't see any receiver (or any device) listed. Thanks

Did you find System Preferences within iTunes? Or is it for your mac/PC? I didn't see my receiver listed in either place.

I also cannot find the correct place to do the work around. I am on Windows 10. Thanks for any help.

Thanks - I discovered this problem today as well - this is a good solution.

On a mac, go to main "system preferences" icon (not in iTunes, but in the overall settings for the Mac), then "Sound" and in there you should see the Denon listed as a resource.
