And what happened when you clicked on cancel?
Did it request your Apple ID details? Did you provide them?
As long as you did not try to sign in, or provide any details to any website the cancel link would have opened, you should be fine.

it went to a page that safari couldn't find, n i immediate shut down the page and went online to change my apple pw.
