iMovie 10.1.9 - Date/Time Overlay Displayed

Can anyone please tell me how to display the Date/Time on the video as the movie is playing? If you're old enough, it's like the old-school VCR tapes which displays Date/Time. We are performing some engineering tests and comparing the video to the data in a spreadsheet and would like to note exactly when an 'event' occurred.

I found exactly how to perform this function in an older posting from 2012 and the layout of iMovie has completely changed...

Thank you very much!

Hi,

Unfortunately, current iMovie 10xx does not have a running date/time feature. Above the timeline, in the middle, there is a running time indicator, but not dates, and it will not carry through when you export. You may be able to go on You Tube and download a time clock clip and insert it into your your movie with the Picture in Picture feature. Also, I believe that there are time clock applications out there that you may be able to find by Googling. I don't know whether these will work with iMovie.
