How do you find the audio files in the .band files for garage band?

Here’s my situation:

I created a song on garage band that took me a large amount of time on an old iPad. I wanted to preserve the file so I could edit It in the future so I emailed the .band file to myself. I tried opening it in my 2009 Mac, which runs OS X version 10.7.5, where there are no software updates available. It would not allow me to open the file, claiming that the file was not in the correct format. I then tried to find the audio files to no avail after opening the package contents and searching for any .aiff file. How, if I could, would I be able to open the .band file and if not, would I still be able to locate the audio files for the song? I don’t have access to the iPad that I originally recorded it on as it has been sold and have no more Apple computers to open it on.

Thanks for the help!

Alright I came across no audio files folder. Would this be an issue with the software or it just doesn’t exist?

files from GB for iOS are actually slightly different, i had forgotten, but the answer is still not good.

GBi stores the audio files directly in the Media folder, so that should be where they are if they existed
