How to remove devices in Text Message Forwarding

On my iPhone in Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, I have a growing number of devices that have been retired that have the same name as the device that replaced it or else were reformatted. One device name now appears 4 times! Previous suggestions have been to wipe the iPhone (ugh!), or to go to https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage and remove the devices BUT these devices do not show there. Is there any other method to get these out of the iPhone?

It's my understanding that you want to remove devices from your Text Message Forwarding. I have a suggestion that may help you. Resetting your Apple ID password will remove these devices from the forwarding list.
