SSL Nucleus Level Meter on Logic Pro X

the level-meters of the ssl nucleus are very very slow or freezing in logic.

Is there a solution for this?

Not a Nucleus user myself, but sorry to report, it's a known issue, (with Logic only). Seems to stem from the way Logic deals with MCU &/or Dante. It was supposedly fixed in Logic 10.2.1, so might be worth upgrading if you haven't already, (although some users are still experiencing the issue in later versions of Logic).

"Level metering shown on a connected SSL Nucleus control surface now matches metering displayed in the Logic Mixer".

Probably worth contacting SSL support (if you haven't already)...

not only with the ssl nucleus is that the same with the faders. I have an original mackie hui here in the studio and also there fidget the faders, the meters freeze and some buttons like the wheel / scrub do not work. everything only under logic !! Apple sabotages these standard protocols such as HUI and MCU in favor of their logic remote! it's a shame what apple aud logic did !!!!

Sorry to hear this.

I had a couple of controllers, had problems in both Logic and PTools.

I dont have any now, life is so much easier! Got rid of the mouse too, just using the computer keyboard and track pad, works a treat.

I know this doesnt help you! Just saying it seems like having a DAW controller is just something else to wrong, they work for a while, then the latest DAW version isnt compatible, or the firmware update doesnt work etc etc, nightmare.

Though if you are using the Nucleus as your audio interface too,? then its even tougher on you.

I hope you can find some solution.

It’s a Logic issue, I can tell you I have talked with a guy at Ssl that really tried to help on this but nothing got solved so far, it really depends on Logic department at Apple, they can only solve the bug. No problems so far with metering on Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, just Logic only and it is true it’s a known issue related to how Logic behaves with the Mackie Control protocol.

I can also tell you that the faders on my Nucleus never ever worked properly either, they dont reach the top of their coarse for instance if you put them on +6 in Logic, only when you put the faders at 0 in logic, rhe same position is reported on Nucleus’s fader. So annoying, spent 5000€ on a piece of crap with Ssl logo on it. Never again
