Error 53 on iPhone X?
Is there a way to fix error 53 on an iPhone X? I googled and did everything like plugging it in to iTunes and restoring from there, but the process will just stop halfway and give me the error again. I can't open the phone at all as it will just display a connect to iTunes screen. I tried installing and reinstalling itunes, and restarting my pc.
FYI, this phone was sold to me by a friend who ensured that it was in good condition. I checked it physically and it all checks out. The problem began when I tried to log in to my apple id - it failed so I can't restore my backup data in iCloud. I tried multiple times but it will just keep spinning and it won't log in. So I connected it to my PC for me to restore my backup data, and it complained about the phone not being the latest version so it can't restore. So naturally, I first tried to update it through settings > general > software update. It failed due to some unknown error. So then I connected it to iTunes, and that's when the dreaded error 53 happened when I tried to update it. Now I can't get through the black screen and my friend is denying that he's done any 3rd party repairs to it. What else could cause error 53 and is there any way for me to fix it?
PS. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and i wondered if it was my network settings, but i was able to log out, log back in, and reupload my back up to icloud using my old iPhone5s.
