iphone text forwarding not working

Lately I've not been able to get text messages to forward to my iMac MacBook Pro or iPad from my iPhone. I've tried toggling it off and back on in iPhone settings but no change. Not sure when this started exactly but may have been around when iOS 11.4.12 came out. What else can I try?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.4.1

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Bradford!

I understand you're having an issue with forwarding texts to your iMac, MacBook Pro, and iPad from your iPhone. I can see how concerning it can be to not have use of this great feature. I'd be happy to provide information that may help you resolved this issue.

Have a look at this article: How to forward SMS/MMS texts on your iPhone

Set up text forwarding

You can forward texts from your iPhone to your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. Here's how:

  1. Make sure that you sign in to iMessage with the same Apple ID on all your devices.
  2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding.
  3. Choose which devices can send and receive text messages from your iPhone.

As long as your iPhone is turned on and connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network, new SMS/MMS texts that appear in green text bubbles can be sent and received on the devices that you added.

iCloud now keeps your entire messages history updated and available on all your devices—even when you set up a new device. Learn how to keep all your messages in iCloud.

Try signing all of your devices out of Messages, then sign back in.

Report back with anything new that you may find.
Have a great weekend!
