Hi jleejandro,

Thanks for getting back to us. On your iPad, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos and I would like for you to check if iCloud Photo Library is turned on. If it is off then that means photos taken on your device are included in a backup if you backup the iPad to either iCloud or iTunes. You may be able to restore the photos from a backup if that's the case.

Follow the steps here to determine if you have a backup made prior to the photos disappearing:

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you locate a backup you would like to restore the iPad from, here's how to do so:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Keep in mind that this would erase any data saved to the iPad after the date the backup was made. If iCloud Photo Library is turned on, the photos would not be in an iCloud or iTunes backup. I would suggest contacting Apple Support directly who would be able to help explore if there are additional steps you could take to recover the missing photos.

Let's start by seeing if you can find the missing photos following these steps:

If you're not able to recover the missing photos using those tips, some helpful information to know would be: Do you use iCloud Photo Library? Do you have a backup of the iPad made to either iCloud or iTunes prior to the photos disappearing? Did the photos disappear from an album you created or from an album such as My Photo Stream or All Photos?

I am afraid to tell you this is not good.

If you never saved these photo images to iCloud Photo Library or to a computer running iTunes or simplycopied them to a computer OR saved them to other “cloud” offsite data storage services, like DropBox or Google Drive/Photos, then I am afraid your photo/images are gone and gone for good.

There is nothing that anyone can do for you, now.

Apple does not keep tabs or digital records on iDevices and its users and just does automatic behind the scenes data backup/recovery without the user ever knowing.

It doesn’t work that way. I think you know that.

You and you alone are responsible for the data on your computers and mobile computing devices.

No one else.

It is up to you to find ways and means to preserve/prolong your digital data on these computing devices, if the data is that important to you.

Nothing is foolproof or forever.

Computers and computing devices can go wrong anywhere at anytime.

Mobile computing devices are not as robust as full featured computers and it is important that you are dilligent in find ways to more regularly backup all of the important data that is on all of your mobile devices to prevent loss of such important and irretrievable data when these types of mobile devices glitch or fail.

Good day Jeremy!

thank you for your response. I did that already prior contacting this support, but I can't find my photos to "recently deleted"

I'm so disappointed because I did not deleted the photos but suddenly they disappeared from my library/album. some photos left but most of my important photos were gone. I tried checking as well if there's copy/backup of photos missing but there's none. there's no backup photos even to my google account.

how can I retrieve those photos? Pls. help. Is apple has record of my file, maybe they can send back copy to my account. Pls. Help.

thank you for your response.

Before I Lost those photos from my iPad library/album, I had my iCloud photo library on until now. that's why I was surprised that only 228 photos left on my iPad library/album. I never delete those photos for months/year. I keep those photos as memento, then suddenly all gone!

I don't know what exactly is happening. if apple has access and record of my file, they can check and will be able to retrieve those photos, especially I did not delete the photos. I check all my accounts already if there's backup file but there's none.

how can I contact Apple directly. Pls. Help.
