"Recent" List Always Empty In GarageBand.

Hello all, I've just started with GarageBand, have been using Studio One 3 before this, but what is really getting to me is why is the "Recents" list always empty. I tried almost everything I read here on the net. Nothing seems to work! I am presently using the Beta Version of Mojave on an iMac but also have the High Sierra OS running with a Disk Partition, The Story is the same on both operating systems so it is not Mojave that seems to be the problem! Any help would be really appreciated! Thank you!

Firstly, thank you so much for responding. The thing is it just got resolved about a couple of hours back. As I had mentioned in the question, I had a disk partition and was running Mojave on one and High Sierra on another, I deleted the partition/volume and came back to the original High Sierra and then when I installed GarageBand everything is as it is supposed to be. The Recent List is no longer empty. That was such a relief to see since I have been trying to solve this from 3 days! Anyhow, I have read your complete reply and have it in mind just in case... once again, thanks a ton for taking the time to reply! Really appreciate it!
