messages not deleting across devices

I thought one of the recent IOS and macOS updates was the ability to delete messages on one device and it would delete messages on all the other synced devices. Am I correct or no? At this point, I have to manually delete every message from every device

Can I make messages delete across devices? Is there a setting where deleted messages are deleted across all connected devices? I find it annoying seeing messages on my iPad and Mac that I already deleted on my phone.

Did you enable iCloud syncing on all devices?

Thanks. I thought I had already done that but apparently didn't. All is good.
