For many months I've been using a shared Apple calendar with my friend no problem.
A few weeks ago, upon attempting to edit one of our shared events, I started getting this error message and it seems to not want to communicate via iCloud. When it happened again just now, it showed the change I made only on my computer, not at iCloud, nor on my phone.
Please can someone help me fix this. Or recommend another better calendar app please! Thank you!

Try unchecking the sync, quit System Preferences for a couple of minutes, then reopen System Preferences, and check the sync.

Last resort - have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?
Thanks for the reply but even after unsyncing and restarting the sync and logging out and back in to iCloud, the error continued to pop up.
I think I might have finally gotten rid of it though. I deleted the calendar that was error was coming from and made a new one.
I still wish I could understand what happened so I could avoid it in the future but I guess that's not possible.

I'm the one who created the calendar, but I tried unsharing and then inviting my friend again. The error message popped up twice again, after unsharing and after inviting her.
I also tried unchecking the iCloud box in preferences>iCloud and it seemed to work at first. It let me change the location of an event without the error message. But then I typed a Note in that same event and when I clicked out of it, the error message popped up again.
Do you have any other suggestions?

If you're friend is sharing the calendar with you, you can try removing yourself from the calendar by right-clicking, and then selecting delete. Once removed, have him/her share the calendar with you again. You can also try turning off Calendar Syncing in System Preferences -> iCloud, and then turning it back on. These are the first troubleshooting steps you can try. Cheers!
