High Sierra upgrade failure

My Mac updated automatically to high sierra and it says the update failed, restart to try again. I have tried several times with no success. There seems to be no way out of this loop to get back to previous os. Any suggestions?

iMac, iOS 11.4.1

Boot from a back up created by Time Machine or other back up app and restore your system from the last good back up.

Or if you clone your system, boot into the clone and reinstall macOS High Sierra or a prior OS using its installer app to your system and migrate your data over.

Or restart using Shift+Command+Option+R to boot into Internet Recovery to reinstall the OS that your Mac shipped with.
