Homepod on Apple TV quiet?

I have heard the Homepod go 100% before, but when i have it paired to my Apple TV it doesn't seem to reach the same volume as when i am playing music. I do have "reduce loud sounds" turned off. Is this a limitation?

Thanks!

Apple TV, iOS 11.4.1

Vancouver22- I have found this to be true as well. The Homepod (or in my case, Homepods) work fantastically when using them solely for listening to music. I keep having issues when paired to my AppleTv 4th Gen- the audio constantly drops out when streaming movies through 3rd party apps (Netflix, HBO, Showtime). However, this does not occur when streaming movies through the Apple Store. We have restored the devices and even purchased a new Google Mesh Wifi system (as apple tech support suggested it could be our router). I have found that this issue seems to happen more frequently when Apple releases new OS or IOS software updates. I don't believe it to be an issue with the 3rd Party apps, but I'm not a coder.

*Back to your original post- Movies are much quieter through Homepod than music going through them. Is this a Bug or Apple controlling the experience?

So I don’t think it’s just via Apple TV. Regarding “ quietness”.

Cutting out is for sure.

last night I purchased the movie Roger Waters The Wall. (Pink Floyd Concert). I watched on ATV, the HomePod was cutting out constantly, really annoying when I was otherwise enjoying this concert.

so today I thought I’d watch again on my iPad and airplay to my kitchen HomePod. No cutting out but too quiet for enjoying a concert,

I just asked Siri to play Pink floyd The Wall from Apple Music, which is much louder. I only wish I could enjoy the concert this loud!

Homepod is just plain too quiet unless it’s a tune from Apple Music or your iTunes library. Period.

Not sure why its like this, I’m not inclined to buy their concert/ music documentaries if I can’t enjoy them at full volume.

Ok now I just tested another concert movie I purchased from iTunes. Michael Jackson Live in Bucharest, Billy Jean. It’s much louder than pink Floyd. im satisfied with this, it was recorded around 1993 , so no HD quality back thrn , which is evidenced by the not so clear picture.

Again though, I ask Siri to play billy jean by MJ from Apple Music or my library ( not sure which it chose from) and wow I’m like hey sir lower the volume! My ears are now buzzing.

Its something with when you play a video, be it iPad or ATV.

Not tried same videos from iPhone, although I suspect it’s the same
