i9 MacBook Pro w/ eGPU to play Fortnite?

Hi!

I'm interested in purchasing an i9 MacBook Pro (16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD) to replace all of my current desktops (Gaming PC, and a Late-2015 27" iMac). If I were to purchase the Blackmagic eGPU and connect it to external monitors (2 running at 1440p at 60Hz), do you think I will get desktop performance? Have any of you tried this?

I want a MacBook that I can use for school in the day and when I get home, just plug in at my desk (at home) and get more power.
