Mazda CX-5 Bluetooth problems

I have an iPhone 6s and not able to conect to my cx5 Mazda.

Phone gives me a message. Not able to find device.

BT is on on my Mazda and iPhone.

However, my wife gets to car and her iPhone 8 connects right away.

What is the issue?

Greetings Ceo33145,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like the iPhone is not able to connect to your car using Bluetooth. I would recommend you read this article and use it to help troubleshoot the issue.

If you connect using Bluetooth

  1. Restart your device.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
  3. Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device. Most cars require a phone setup on the car display.
  4. If you've connected multiple phones to your car stereo, try renaming your device: Go to Settings > General > About > Name, and type a new name. Then try connecting again.
  5. Update your device.
  6. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
  7. If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod doesn't connect to or work in your car

Take care.

After doing so many things I was able to connect. However I’m not able to answer any call in my car. When calls come, they don’t ring in my car. I just get the call dropped and see iPhone has missed call.

Please let me know what the issue is. This is annoying. Is this due to new OS? My wife’s phone, 8, also gets the same issues.
