Connecting iPhone to Sony A6000 camera

I’m having trouble getting my camera to connect to my phone so I can send pics to my phone. I downloaded the play memories app. I connected my phone to the camera’s WiFi as instructed. But my camera doesn’t connect to the phone. I even waited 30 minutes hoping it was just slow. Please help.
