I am having issues connecting my iPhone to my laptop through usb. It will connect for a brief moment and disconnect again, this repeatedly happens until I unplug it. Does anyone have solutions to this problem?

For me, your answer is in your question: it's the cable. Try with another cable (preferably of another brand/model...) (I've seen problems like this with bright new cables from a brand that I prefer not to mention...) and see if you can reproduce the same issue. Or if it has been solved, what I hope...
