imessage not showing my phone number in the send and receive addresses it just shows my apple id in address how to fix this

well i been having a problem with my imessage where i tried to put back my number as the send and receiver but my number is greyed out i found out some method how to fix it but now i tried to erase the network setting but now i i open send and receive its only show my apple id how should i fix this?

iPhone 6, iOS 11.4.1

Turn iMessage off, then before turning it back on again, make sure that the phone is on and activated, and you are connected to your cellular network. Then turn iMessage back on again and wait for it to activate. At that time, it should register your phone number. If you continue to experience problems, check this support document out, and if necessary, contact Apple Support with the link in the support document. If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
