Leaving an Apple Watch on the charger would not hurt it.

Thanks. I tried troubleshooting and it's still not working. I tried force starting too but no luck. My watch overheated due to overcharge. Is it like watch died?

It is not possible to overcharge an Apple Watch (or any other Apple product, for that matter). You could leave it charging for a week or even a year and no harm would come to it, because all Apple products have protective circuits that turn off charging when the device reaches full charge. I don’t doubt your watch has a problem, but it is not due to overcharging.
