iPhone 7 Plus no sound when making or receiving calls

Hi looking for some help.

My iPhone 7 Plus has suddenly stopped working properly with no obvious reason. When I make a call the sound through the ear speaker (not quite sure the correct terminology) is crackly and distorted, if I switch to speaker phone it is the same. When receiving a call and swiping to answer my phone answers the call but continues to vibrate and has no sound. This has continued for most of the day but now when I call or recieve a call there is no sound at all even through the speakers. when I use my phone through my car speakers it works fine. I have factory reset and cleaned my phone but nothing seems to help.

Anyone any any ideas on how to sort this? Thanks

Hi Caroline48d,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you do not hear sound through the speakerphone and the sound is distorted through the receiver. There are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. I would recommend you read these articles and use them to help troubleshoot the issue.
