I entered a new Apple ID in settings for iTunes and App Store on my iPad. When I open the store and try to update my apps (downloaded with the previous Apple ID) it requests the password for the previous Apple ID.
What step am I missing in changing to the new Apple ID?

purchased apps are uniquely associated with the apple ID used to purchase them - you can not change that, you either have to log in using that Apple id or repurchase them with the new Apple ID

Thanks. They're free apps (Prime Video, Netflix, etc.), looks like I just need to delete and download again. A pain, but doable.
