How can I transfer one or more photos from Photos on my Mac Air (OSX 10.13.6) to my Android phone (Android 8.0.0)?

I would suggest using Android File Transfer. This app lets you transfer files to your Android device from your mac, and vice versa.
I'd suggest Google Photos. If it's installed on the iPhone, it will upload everything to your Google account. Those photos should then be visible on Google Photos on your Android phone, assuming your using the same Google account.
Or, you could transfer all of your pictures to your computer (something I'd recommend anyway) and then transfer them to the Android phone.
