What is error code 8076
I was trying to rename a folder and got this error code..google brought up many hits but they seem to have nothing to do with my problem

I suggest you check out this discussion and try the following:
If the error occurs on the Startup Disk, try :Repair disk permissions with Disk Utility - Apple Support
If on another disk, check the " Ignore ownership on this volume" checkbox
