I am working with a young adult who was introduced to eye gaze technology one year ago,he is using a tobii eyegaze system presently, we(myself, his parents and teacher) are interested in finding out who what developments there are in Apple products in this area as Apple received a patent in 2015 regarding eye gaze technology.

I am not aware of any commercially available or practicable eye tracking devices for the MacOS or the iOS platforms. There is a lot of stuff on the web about developments in this area, but as far as I know none of this has yet resulted in a usable accessibility product.
If you need, or want to use eye gaze as an alternative access method, you will have to use Windows.
