Watch face scratches

recently purchased my Apple Watch Sport basic and now noticed scratches on the face of the watch caused by the very slightest of touches I thought this watch would offer some basic protection to the face what can be done

It is a rather durable watch, but at the end of the day, the screen is glass and therefore, susceptible to scratches and cracks.


A lot of people, including me, use a case on the watch. There are tons of options available from big brands like Spigen on Amazon.

I think you will find these are surface marks on the oleophobic (fingerprint repellent) layer, and they might wipe clear if you follow Apple’s cleaning advice in Cleaning your Apple Watch - Apple Support. I’ve seen horrific “scratches“ wipe away on my T shirt! Hint, don’t polish too hard, and don’t use solvents because you will ruin the surface treatment.
