Retina Macbook 12 USB-C to BlackMagic UltraStudio Mini recorder (Thunderbolt 1)

The BlackMagic capture card is a thunderbolt device. Will I be able to connect it to my 12" Macbook Retina through the usb-c connector? I understand it is a USB-C 3.1 and doesn't support thunderbolt 3. The BlackMagic capture device expects a Thunderbolt 1 connection.

Is their an adaptor that can make this work?

MacBook, iOS 11.4, Macbook Retina 12"

The implementation of USB-C on 12" Retina MacBooks has no Thunderbolt capability. It is hardware limited to 5 Gb/s, and Thunderbolt 1 has a 10 Gb/s specification. No adapter is capable of increasing bandwidth.

If you have had your MacBook for less than 14 days, you can exchange it for a MacBook Pro.
