safari location wrong

My Safari on my MacBook Air keeps inputting my location as Canada despite me being based on US. Therefore, when I go to search or purchase something, Safari directs me to Canada-based websites (ex. google.ca or apple.ca, etc.) Last time, I purchased something online and then my bank froze my credit card because my purchase was apparently "made from outside of US." Any help would be wonderful. Thanks.

Hello benzkomph,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with websites you visit not reflecting that you're in the United States, and instead show the Canadian version of the website in the Safari app on your MacBook Air. First, go to System Preferences > Language & Region and make sure these settings are correct.

Next, please remove stored cookies and clear your browsing history in Safari and test your issue again. Also, if you're using a VPN, please check where the exit node is located, as this could be related to your issue.
