ID recovery question

my wife was away on vacation and couldnt remeber her Apple ID password. Some how she started the recovery process. Called Apple to try and sped process up. The problem is she cancelled the credit card she had used for the account t and doesent have it any more. This is one of the ways to get back I to account. The forgot my apple ID page says 10days until get e mail with link. in the mean time she can’t do anything on her phone Or Mac or iPad. Can’t download apps or sync Fitbit or anything because need to log I to account. There has to be another way to do this. Her memory is t great and I don’t think she had two factor authentication set up. Would going to the Apple store help. We did call tech and he tried a few different things but it was like a perpetual circle. All she wants to do is reset password but they make you wait way too long

Going to an Apple Store won't help.

The Recovery Process is an automated process and length of time it takes can vary a lot. Apple ID Support can only answer your questions. They can't intervene in or speed up the process. The article below has some suggestions to shorten the the time the process takes.
