Lcd brokem changing IMEI

Hei guys,

Straight to the point. I got iPhone 7 256 gb gold. So i just cracked my lcd screen but the touch screen still works. I just send them for repair, but not to apple. The technician said that if i want to change the lcd screen, i need to change the chasing too. He said that lcd screen and chasing is one package. And if i change my chasing, my IMEI said to be changed, because he said the IMEI is stated at the back of the phone. But i know thats iPhone 7 IMEI is not stated at the back of the phone. Then as if i change the IMEI, i need to change the chip contain IMEI in the inside. Can i trust him? Because i just see that lcd screen sold separately from main chase so i didnt need to change the chasing. What should i do??

There is no reason at all the IMEI should change with a display replacement. The display is a laminated unit, so must be replaced as a whole unit, but it changes nothing at all about the rest of the iPhone 7 components.

Honestly, I would not trust that repair person to change a light bulb. They don’t sound like they have a clue what they’re doing. Either that or they’re just tossing out made up repairs and changes to see how much they can get you to pay them for made up issues.

No. He's an idiot, or he's just trying to bamboozle you. IF he didn't actually attempt to disassemble the phone, take it to your local Apple Store or AASP and get it repaired or replaced. If he did, Apple won't touch it.
