does final cut or avid xpresspro work with macbook 2gb Ram 60 gb HD ?

i work on pc with premiere pro and want to change to mac.avid and final cut should be one of the best programs on the market.i bought a macbook and want to know if avid or final cut works on my macbook.?

macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.8), 2gb ram 60gb HD, parallels

Yes, both work on the MacBook. Final Cut is available as a universal binary but Avid is not. However, Avid will run under Rosetta albeit slower than on a similarly clocked G5.

Parallels does only use a single core, but it's fast enough for must applications except those that require 3D hardware acceleration (not yet supported) such as games. However, if you are planning to use Final Cut I can see no particular reason to work in a Parallels VM. Parallels next version (3.0) should have hardware graphics and multi-cores implemented. However, I don't know when that will be released.

VMWare's VM Fusion which is currently in beta testing uses two cores, but I don't know if hardware graphics acceleration is implemented. Look for other VM products emerging for Intel Macs in the future.
