I am using macbook pro 2016 touchbar,macOS sierra 10.12.2 for screenshots if we use shift+command+3 generally screenshots are saved on desktop
I wanted them to save on downloads folder, so I googled and got the follwing command: defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Downloads/
It seems that this command is not working. How to solve this problem ?

/Downloads would be a folder named Downloads at the root level of the hard drive.
You would want ~/Downloads for the one in your home.

Easy from your terminal.app
Applications/Utitlities/Terminal.app
(customize your location, for ex Desktop here) copy and paste:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location ~/Desktop ;killall SystemUIServerEnter with the return key.
Quit Terminal
