Connecting an iPhone X with a Samsung Galaxy tablet

I am looking at purchasing a tablet and unfortunately I can not afford an iPad at this moment (student budget) so I am looking at getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" 32 GB Wifi Tablet (Black) - SM-T380NZKEXAR to get me by for a while. The question I have is, does anyone know if my iPhone X will connect to this tablet via either BT or WiFi? I am intending on using my phone as a hotspot for access when not near a WiFi source. The Samsung tablet runs on the Android 7.1 os.

Thank you in advance for any input and advice for this?

The way you connect to a Personal Hotspot is as follows:

On the device that you want to connect, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and look for your iPhone or iPad in the list. Then tap the Wi-Fi network to join. If prompted, enter the password for your Personal Hotspot.

So, you need to ask your question on the Samsung support site, since it is the connecting device that has to do the selecting and connecting to the device with the Hotspot.
