I cannot get iCloud to stop download to my MacBook pro, cannot get it to finish uploading (3 days!!!). Now it's downloading and the stop x does not work. It doesn't work to optimize, to check or uncheck box.
Does anyone have a solution?

How much data is being synced? An iCloud sync is a very, very slow process. If you interrupt it, it will start at the beginning.

Thank you Eric. Yes I interrupted it and it started all over again. Finally it took nearly 48 hours to complete.
