Ipod Shuffle Help...Error Code 1418

I installed my Ipod Shuffle on my girlfriend's
computer under the Windows ME O/S...

Since iTunes doesn't run under WinME, HOW did you do that? Or didn't you use iTunes at all?

her dad just
loaded Vista on the computer and now my Ipod has gone
insane. All my songs are gone from it and when I try
to restore the Ipod I get an Error 1418, unable to
restore. Can anyone help me with this?

i have the exact same problem as the first response that error when i try ro restore ipod.
.I just got a new computer 2 days ago and it has microsoft vista.i cannot restore ipod.I downloaded itunes 7.02 and installed ipod but i have an old software on my ipod.It will not let me update or restore ipod which i need to do.I can put songs onto it but the ipod needs to be restored before i can play them.

Do i wait then until new itunes is out.That article i read it but it does not mention error code 1418 in the list of problems with vista. which is worrying

please what do i do now i desperately need my ipod
