What is the warranty on AirPods?

So I bought AirPods last year. It’s still under the one year warranty. If anything defective is covered and you can return the device for a “new” set. I understand the ones you are sent back to replace the original ones are not new but refurbished ones. The same problem with the replacement. One headphone would charge and the other wouldn’t. Call Apple Support and they tell me I have to pay to get them fixed?! I keep them in case and have never dropped them or damaged them in anyway. How am I supposed to pay when it’s not my fault? Apple please explain? I bought hear through VZW and they sent me the other pair and then told me for the second time I would have to go through Apple. I called last week and spoke to a rep and he didn’t say anything about paying anything for something that wasn’t under manufacture warranty still. And I call back again today because I never got a follow up email so I got suspicious. And now I spoke with another rep saying the original process was never completed and now she is charging me to get something fixed that’s not my fault!

This is a user-to-user technical support site, there is no one from Apple here that can help with your issue. Call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service. The only reason I can think of that they would be having you do an out-of-warranty replacement is if there were signs of user damage to them, such as exposure to water.

they are replaced with NEW, they are like a watch, not much that would actually be repaired.. If you had a problem with 1 they would usually just replace the 1 with the problem, not replace the "set"

The only time the "pair" would be replaced would be with your insurance and you would need to pay the deductible.

As indicated contact Apple by phone, They will be able to look into the actual history and service the product as required. You can try an Apple Store if you have one in your area as well, but i would stick to the functional details. If verizon is charging you that would be between you and verizon
