My MacBook Air Charger Light is not turning on, but my battery image shows a charge?

I went to plug in my MacBook Air with my charger and I noticed that the light was not on. As pictured below:User uploaded file

Then I looked at the battery image in the corner and it shows a "battery charge" symbol. Pictured Below:User uploaded file

Even though it is showing the battery charge symbol, it is not charging my battery. Does anybody know what is happening or have experienced this problem as well?

I know that the charger works because both of my roommates have MacBook Airs and the light turned green and charged their computers.

I know that the outlet works, I have tested this.

I have cleared all debris from both the charger and charging port.

I have reset the SMC exactly as described online.

PLEASE HELP!

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Hi there!

My charger does this too! When mine does it, all i usually have to do is unplug it and then replug it back in and the light comes back on. If your charger does this every time you use it then i would recommend buying a new charger or contacting customer support. If your charger has any tears to it, i would recommend buying a new charger as well, because that might have something to do with it. Or if none of these answers suffice, you could always contact customer support. You can either make an appointment with the genius bar, call them, or chat with them. I usually choose to chat with them because i find the most convenient and usually they can answer any questions you have.
