Clearing Saved Passwords on Google Search

I was showing my aunt something on my Facebook page on her iPad this evening and now I can't clear the saved login and password page. She uses Google (Search? NOT Chrome) as her browser and nowhere could I find settings that allow me to delete or remove a saved password. So if she were to type Facebook into the search box the first link is a Facebook landing page with my picture on and all she has to do is click on my photo and she is on the Facebook site as me. My aunt doesn't use Facebook and I'm sure she wouldn't go into my account but I'd like to be able to remove that saved login and password to be absolutely safe.

I found lots of suggestions for removing passwords etc from Safari, and for Google Chrome, but nothing for the (simple) Google Search browser she uses.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi babowa. Thanks for your reply.

She has the first pic below as an app on her iPad desktop, which she presses and uses to search. Isn't that a Google browser? She doesn't have the Chrome app, as in the 2nd pic.

I don't have the iPad in front of me now, but as I looked at her settings last night I couldn't find anything about clearing autofill for Google. I found a way to clear history and did that but as soon as Facebook was typed into that Google 'browser' again the first page offered was my login page.

Any help anyone?

This is a Google app for mobile devices - it is not a browser - it is simply an easy to click on Search app. If she is a Google account member, then settings may be available there. I do not do anything Google as I disagree with their business philosophy, so I do not have an account and don't know if they allow preferences. Just know that Google stores everything (and has in the past sold that kind of information).

This is a long shot: try going to the iPad settings > General > Google and see if something can be set there.

Hi babowa.

I didn't get a chance to go back and try to solve the problem on my aunt's iPad until the other day, so apologies for not replying sooner.

I understand the difference between the simple search app and the browser now. She wasn't sure what her browser was but I couldn't find anything other than Safari on her iPad. I tried settings for the iPad and Safari settings and still couldn't remove the saved password for Facebook. I also tried to to find a way to remove my Facebook account 'from this device' and was one click away from deleting it altogether (people were awaving goodbye and saying they'd miss me), so stopped short of doing that.

The simple thing that did work in the end was to remove that Google app and reinstall it. I hadn't wanted to do that because I thought she might lose valuable data but the only saved information she had really was her location when she looked for her local weather, and that was easily re-inserted.

So problem solved, but I still believe there must have been a way to do it without deleting and reinstalling the app.

Thanks for your help anyway.
