I backed up iphone5 and then restored it because it said no service/searching.
Now, it will not activate. It says “ your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. “
Top left says searching even without sim card inserted Which was my problem before I restored the phone.
I would ask them for another sim card.
You need a sim card that is supported by your carrier.
The issue isn’t the SIM card, it’s the phone itself. It’s not Recognizing that the SIM is in it, or even out of it. This is my sons phone. I can take his Sim card and put it into my phone and it works,
Sounds like the sim card is placed incorrectly.
I do... phone was working yesterday just fine... until it wasn’t. After lots of research, I was told to restore the phone, which hasn’t helped. Usually when the SIM card isn’t installed, it says “no sim”... but it still says searching.
You don't have any service without a sim card.
I can put SIM card in it and it still says searching/no service. SIM card is good as I can put it in another phone and it works.
It is placed in correctly. I put it in my iPhone 6 and it works fine.
Do both devices use the same carrier?
