Imac Sound Output

My iMac sound output jumps randomly from internal speakers to "Music Receiver".. I was given some advice on what to try but the issue stopped for a while so I lost the advice and never tried to repair. Now the issue has started again

iMac Pro Audio Glitching After listening to audio for 15-20 minutes, the audio starts glitching with crackles and 1/2 second backtracking. Could be listening to iTunes or Spotify, or watching YouTube through a browser, or playing games—it doesn't matter what, the audio will start to glitch. I can 'fix' it by switching the audio output from headphone port to built-in, or vice versa, and that will get rid of the glitches for another 15-20 minutes. Seems like a ridiculous problem to have for a pro level computer that starts at $5k. This frankly pisses me off.

random intermittent audio on iMac This is a brand new iMac and it works beautifully and as expected EXCEPT that it will often play random AND intermittent audio. It could be music or an advertisement, literally anything. I have gone through the process of looking at each open browser window (Safari and Firefox) finding nothing. Next logical step was to close all the running programs (while this random intermittent audio was happening). I even tried checking Activity Monitor to see what might be happening but, using all of the search terms i could think of related to 'audio' i found nothing. Needless to say, this is hugely frustrating when i am in a Zoom meeting with a client. Any help with this would be most appreciated. My computer details are below. ...john... Sound issues: Volume goes up and down arbitrarily So weird. Have been having this issue with my iMac for over a year now. Even when I move my mouse it goes up and down. Switched speakers and checked wires, it is still doing it. Any thoughts?
