Konica Minolta 364e - not printing w/Account Track
Newly installed Konica Minolta C364 print driver on a MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.13.4 High Sierra, upon attempt to print a document, fails to display an expected print dialog when selecting Printer Features when checking Account Track. The dialog is to display entry panel to specify account information. Upon clicking Print the document submits to the printer successfully, but then is flushed from the queue without printing.
Users that successfully installed the printer driver for this printer on Mac's running MacOS 10.12, or previous releases, having the missing dialog successfully specify their account information for the Printer Features->Account Track during initial print sessions. As a result, the the account information is passed to the printer on subsequent print jobs and prints successfully.
Users having successfully installed the printer driver and having specified their account information for the Printer Features->Account Track option are able to upgrade from MacOS 10.12 to MacOS 10.13 and the Konica Minolta C364 and/or C264e are able print, as the Account Track account information is recognized, however, the dialog no longer appears.
Is there a way to provide the Printer Features->Account Track account information possible via an AppleScript to interface with the missing dialog for new installation on MacOS 10.13.4 High Sierra?
Note: This is a business machine with many users. An alternative would be to downgrade the user to Sierra install and configure the printer and the Printer Features->Account Track information, then migrate the user back to High Sierra to overcome this issue. Or, have the Konica Minolta technician modify the setting manually, doing so without the technician no doubt violates terms of service agreement, but possibly an AppleScript interface would suffice until this printer has outlived its useful life and yielded an acceptable return on investment (ROI). This particular model is still supported, however, it is nearing its end of life along with the others; old style business model, not good for business, not good for company reputations, not necessarily a business model that shall work any longer in this day and age, as enough encounters with it results in changes of brand loyalties. Worse case, this precludes users from upgrading the MacOS; this issue does not exist under Windows machines:-(
