iTunes Update 12.8

I am trying to update my iTunes 12.7.5.9 to 12.8. AppStore updates says it has been installed but it is not (tried 4 times now). This is on a MacBook El Capitan 10.11.6 which is supposed meet the system requirements. Any ideas on what is happening?

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Hey Sandra,

Try again, but download the installer from here:

iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple

Just double-click on the icon when it finishes downloading, and follow the (simple) instructions in the installer.
