Download App Purchased On iPad Pro To MacBook Air

I purchased the app "Notability" on my iPad Pro, and want to know how I can download it on my MacBook Air. I know it is compatible as the app appears in the Mac App Store. I have connected the two devices with a lightning cable, but don't know how to proceed from here.
