How do I get my student membership back?

accidentally said that I wasn’t a student anymore when Apple asked me to renew my membership and now it won’t let me sign up for the student membership anymore because my college email address is “already in use”

Hello Maggie,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're encountering a message indicating your email is already in use when renewing your Apple Music student subscription. I would be happy to help point you towards a resolution.

Here's a resource that could help:

Get an Apple Music Student subscription - Apple Support

Since you already have a UNiDAYS account, try to verify your eligibility again following these steps:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Open the Music app. If you don't see a "Welcome to Apple Music" message, tap For You at the bottom of the screen.
  2. If you're joining Apple Music for the first time or previously used a trial, tap the trial offer.
If you currently subscribe to Apple Music, tap Sign In, then change to a Student subscription.
  3. Choose College Student or University Student.
  4. Tap Verify Eligibility. A browser window opens.
  5. Enter your academic (.edu) or personal email address and search for your institution's name. UNiDAYS might use this email to keep a record of your eligibility.

If you already have a UNiDAYS account, tap "Already verified with UNiDAYS?" and sign in using the email address that you use with your UNiDAYS account.
