Mac Mail Swipe to Delete

I want to turn off the Swipe to Delete feature in Mac Mail.

Using the Magic Mouse at the "wrong angle" , it is too easy to inadvertently send an email to the Trash folder. And then it can be hard to find it and put it back.

Position of Mail Trash Can I am a new MacBook Pro user and am adjusting to the differences between the MacBook's Mail program and my old PC's Outlook app. Outlook had a trashcan next to each message (on the right side of the message preview screen) so it was very easy to delete each message. In Mail on the MacBook the Trash Can is located in the Tool Bar at the top of the app. So to delete a message I am constantly having to move my cursor up and down. Is there a way to add a Trash Can icon to each message? Thank you.

Disabling swipe on Magic Mouse with Mac Mail I just got a Magic Mouse, and can't work out how I can disable the sideways swipe when hovering over a message in the message list view of Mac Mail. I can't find a preference for this in Mail, nor for the mouse itself. It's annoying because if I'm going to drag a message to a folder, but accidentally start a swipe, then the click and drag is ignored. Then I have to: unclick, undo the partial swipe, click and drag as initially intended. If this isn't possible, how do I lobby for such a preference? :-) Cheers, Neil

Mail Deletion I have just updated to Ventura on my M1 iMac...since the update I have lost the ability to swipe and delete mail in with my trackpad Any ideas please..... Mike

I do not see a feature that allows to turn it off.

It even appears the option to reverse the swipe action is gone. Archive Unread to the right, delete to the left seems a fixed action.
