How can I install Windows on an external ssd using bootcamp?

Microsoft does not allow the installation of Windows on external device.
If you Windows installation on the internal disk has the drive letter C:, you can add an external SSD with a NTFS partition (say D:) and install applications on D: and run them from the the external SSD. The Windows OS is restricted to the internal disk.
Is there any solution, because I have just 256go I need more storage for windows
Move data to external disk that does not require you to move Windows also.
Ahh but like softwares that work only in Windows is there any solution to install them in external ssd?
Data, yes. Apps, no.
Generally the data is far larger that the apps.
