I just switched to Sierra and find the imessage popup on startup very annoying. How can I disable it?

Hi,
You can now Sign Out if you don't want to use the app.
You will not be prompted to Sign Back in.
However if you do use iMessage you can do so to other Mac users that are using Apple IDs and to iPhone Users that have enabled the apps on their respective devices.

Thanks for the clue. As I never use imessage, I had not signed in. But I did and now the popup telling me to sign in does not come up.
You are welcome.
More information would help. What does the popup show? Are you signed into Messages? Are you getting the popup when using a browser or just on startup?
