Ipad 4 charging up to 86% and giving not charging once it reach 86%.

Hi everyone.

A few months back, I did a complete 100% charge and after that my iPad charging port stopped working. the battery was fine as it was used up to 10% in a few days.

As I didn't have time to get it checked and repaired, I did saw online that mainly it might be the charging port ribbon.

Now, finally had time, I took to a shop which apple recommend in my country but they told as apple don't provide iPad parts they replaced it with used or replicate, which they normally do here in Pakistan.

Now, it is charging but it is charing to 86% and after that its shows not charging even though it is a plugin.

I haven't don't a full recycle after the replacement. but I did had a full discharge till the iPad shut down before my last full charge.

so I would be grateful if u can guide me why it is stuck at 86%.

Greetings umar_1,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand your iPad isn't charging as expected, as you mention the iPad will stop charging once it reaches 86%.

The following support article provides helpful troubleshooting suggestions for when an iPad doesn't charge as expected: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge

If the behavior continues to persist, it would then be best to speak with the location which helped to replace your iPad.

Kind regards.

Morning.

Thanks for your reply.

Strangely, i read someone to wait 30 min if the charging stuck at 85% and try again, and to my surprise, it worked.

I just reconnected the cable to the ipad and made sure it is insert completely in after 30+min and it started to charged till 100%, i did again two times so far so good.

As its my original cable, i will need to replace it with anker or another original cable as this one need to be change
