iMac desktop: surge & power cut protector suggestions please

I live in an area with power cuts, mini-power cuts, long power cuts, but all power cuts are unannounced.

I had a surge protector / battery backup which has passed away and now need another.

Would like to hear suggestions for which type is best for my iMac desktop purchased in 11-17, and available for purchase in Spain.

Gracias.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

What you need is an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), I would recommend looking at your local Computer Store or Office Supply Store or if you have one in your area, Batteries Plus store. What you will need to figure our it what do you want plugged into the UPS and then calculate how much power each device draws. Once you have this information then you can get a general idea of how large a battery is needed. Personally I use an APC ES750 which suits my needs. The batteries wear out ever 3--5 years and are easily replaceable. Expect to spend $100+ for something that suits your needs.

Get one that has a USB port to your computer, then you can open System Preferences - Energy Saver - UPS and tell the preference what you want. This will not be visible until you have connected the UPS to the computer.
