I have the identical problem. I had to change gmail password this morning as I received an alert my account had been compromised overseas, since doing this I can't add gmail back to my iPhone or Mac computer. It keep coming up with this error message on Mac and on iPhone just goes straight back to the 'add account' page

Just setup my new laptop last night (8/24) and ran into this exact same issue. Tried a bunch of suggestions found from Google search but non worked.

Just saw this post today and couldn't believe my luck that the certificate expired the same day.

Anyway to add "git.apple.com" to the SSL exception as a workaround?

Is there a fix or a workaround for this, or is a waiting game until they fix the cert? I can't get gmail logged into from any of my macs.
